AETC key focus areas on the market areas are now released

At Arctic Europe Tourism Cluster (AETC), we continuously strive to optimize our strategies and maximize the potential of our unique offerings in the Arctic Europe region. As part of our ongoing commitment to growth and sustainability, we are pleased to announce our market prioritization for the duration of our project. This strategic initiative is designed to enhance our outreach and engagement with key markets, ensuring that we leverage the most promising opportunities effectively.

Group 1: DACH and Benelux

For the upcoming autumn seasons, we are focusing on the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) regions. These markets have shown a robust interest in the Arctic Europe region, particularly in outdoor and cultural experiences. These markets are included in all activities. Our approach for these mature markets includes:

  • Digital Marketing with Tour Operators: We will enhance our digital presence by collaborating closely with established tour operators who already have a strong foothold and familiarity with our area. These operators are not only knowledgeable about our region but are also eager to explore and promote new seasonal experiences.
  • Co-branding with Non-Tourism Brands: To expand our reach, we will engage in co-branding initiatives with non-tourism brands. This strategy aims to tap into diverse consumer bases and increase awareness of the Arctic as a year-round destination.

These markets have a solid awareness of our region during certain seasons, making them ripe for further development. By building on the successful results from previous projects such as VAE and VAE II, we can continue to grow and enhance our offerings. In addition to these, the Group 1 will also be targeted with the same actions as listed below for the Group 2.

Group 2: USA, Italy, Spain, France, UK

Looking towards future growth, we are prioritizing the USA, Italy, Spain, France, and the UK. These markets have shown a burgeoning interest in the Arctic region, though there is still a need to deepen their knowledge and familiarity with our unique offerings. Our strategy for these developing markets includes:

  • Sales Workshops: We will organize targeted sales workshops to educate and engage travel industry professionals, providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to promote our mutual region effectively.
  • Knowledge Transition Tours: These tours will offer hands-on experiences and insights into the Arctic Europe, helping tour operators and travel agents to better understand and sell our destination.
  • Brand Marketing: We will invest in robust brand marketing campaigns to build awareness and interest. This will include various promotional activities aimed at showcasing the unique attractions and experiences of the Arctic Europe region.
  • Product Development: Collaborating with new tour operators, we aim to develop innovative products that cater to these markets’ specific interests and preferences. This effort will also focus on extending the travel season, making the Arctic Europe a desirable destination year-round.

By focusing on these strategies, we aim to nurture these markets and establish a stronger presence. The long-term potential is significant, and we are committed to investing in activities that will yield sustained growth and increased visitor numbers.

AETC Commitment to Our Partners

We believe that this strategic market prioritization will not only benefit the Arctic Europe region but also provide our partners with new and exciting opportunities for collaboration and growth. We are dedicated to supporting our partners through these initiatives and ensuring that we collectively achieve our goals.

Stay tuned for more updates and detailed plans as we implement these strategies. Together, we can unlock the full potential of the Arctic Europe region and create unforgettable experiences for travelers from around the world.
